PLANTAR FASCIA (HEEL) PAIN

Are you prepared to live without persistent heel pain?

Driving Innovation in Modern Medical Procedures

We provide a non-surgical solution to address persistent heel pain related to plantar fasciitis.

Plantar Fascia Embolization (PFE)

Procedure

Embolization of the plantar fascia is a minimally-invasive treatment for pain arising from the plantar fascia. This innovative procedure is performed by an Interventional Radiologist in an outpatient setting. By placing a small access point in the groin, we’re able to insert a small catheter into the PT Artery branches feeding the plantar fascia. The catheter allows us to identify abnormal vessels that have grown that cause inflammation and pain in the surface of the foot. Once the vessels are identified, we inject biocompatible embolization spheres into the affected blood vessels that feed the inflammation and pain. By blocking ONLY these abnormal vessels, patients are experiencing a significant reduction in inflammation and pain and are able to resume normal daily activities.

Why Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis Typically Get Worse

  1. Plantar fasciitis may worsen over time, resulting in heightened pain and discomfort in the heel.
  2. If the condition continues, the plantar fascia may become increasingly inflamed and irritated, leading to intense heel pain and trouble walking.
  3. The body tries to control the inflammation, but ongoing stress and pressure on the plantar fascia can worsen the symptoms.
  4. Continued stress can result in symptoms such as intense heel pain, swelling, and heightened discomfort, particularly after resting or engaging in extended activities.
  5. The development of plantar fasciitis and the body’s reaction to it can worsen symptoms over time, making them harder to handle without treatment.
